Fun with Dad at Yorktown!

When it's super hot and humid, we love to head to Yorktown!  First we look at the water fountain and throw in a penny or two.

Pump it up!

It's been brutally hot (again) so we decided to head to Pump it up.  Allie was so bold by the end that she was able to go up and down the slide all alone.

Concert in the park

 Every Friday night, PR has a concert in the park.  We have made it to three of them this year, and last night, Addison and Aubriana joined in!  Grammie brought bubbles, so the kids were entertained for a while.  On concert nights, Claire stays up until about 9pm, and we usually pay for it the next day!

 I have not been the best photographer lately, so when Claire asked me to take a picture of Miss Piggy in the car, I had to do it, PJ's and all! 

Allie is 20 months!  Her favorite person is still Claire and her shoe obsession continues!  She loves Barney and Thomas.  Her favorite animal is a cat, but she also loves dogs and bunnies.  Like most kids, she loves singing, coloring and playing at the park.  She can climb up to the tallest slide and go down it without any help, but a lot of supervision!  Her favorite foods are pasta, bananas, raisins, keifer, and cookies!  She is super sweet and a shy momma's girl!

We are starting to plan for her birthday and Claire is super excited.  Mark your calenders for August 12th! 

Outdoor Summer Fun!

Having fun on the pony on the 4th of July.  It was super hot out, so it was so nice to spend the afternoon at the HWCC pool.  We loved seeing everyone and it's always precious to see Claire and Allie with their cousin William.

Allie's first pony ride!  She was a little apprehensive and was asking to get off about half way through.  She stuck with it and will hopefully enjoy it more next time. 

The Welke and Newton kids enjoyed a day at the Lincoln Park Zoo.  It was such a gorgeous day and it's nice that the temps have fallen below 100 degrees again!

We spent a (hot) day with the Shooks in Glenview.  This was a great ending to the day!  We kept waiting for the Glen security to come after us, but they never did!  Later on that night, Claire told me that swimming in the fountain was her favorite part of the day!  It was pretty hilarious. 

The kids love going to Wildwood Nature Center in Park Ridge.  This was the first time that Matt got to see it, so we made it a special daddy day!
